Biggest single reel

Every number on this page comes from one account, Neil Thakkar of Chase Insurance Brokers, counted across the eleven months we have run it: 71 reels from 27 September 2025 to 17 August 2026. Nothing posted before we started is included, and the profile is public so you can check the whole thing yourself. Our second insurance account, Puneet Jain, is age-restricted on Instagram and cannot be measured from outside, so nothing of his is counted here. Everything is organic, with zero ad spend behind it. Meta lead campaigns, for the agents who choose to run them, are a separate service and reported separately.

The numbers

What does an insurance reel actually do on Instagram?

These are the 10 biggest we have made for an insurance broker, from 436K views down to 71K, 1.78M between them. 7 of the 10 are about car insurance, which is not an accident. Every number is counted only inside the months we ran the account, all of it organic, and every card opens the live post so you can check it.

View counts checked on 17 August 2026. Drag or scroll the row to see the rest; it pauses while you do.

The problem

Why most insurance agent Instagram marketing gets ignored

A stock photo of a family under a paper roof. A carousel listing what a policy covers. A quote form link in the bio. Every licensed agent sells from the same carriers under the same rules, so the feeds fill up with the same brochure in a different font.

Nobody buys insurance from a brochure. They buy after they hear what it cost somebody like them: the friend whose claim was denied because the address on the policy was his cousin's, the uncle whose visitor cover lapsed a week before the stroke, the neighbour who saved $40 a month and paid $22,000 for it.

That is a content problem, and it is fixable. The agent who told that story is the one who gets the call, because by then the viewer has already imagined the bill.

We script in the language the worry gets described in. That means naming the exact situation your client's family is afraid of, in the words they would use for it. A Gujarati caption under an English video does not do that.

Coverage-list posts

A carousel of what a policy includes, in brand colours, posted the same week by every other agent working the same book. Nobody saves a list of coverages and nobody remembers who made it.

English-only content

Your strongest client is bilingual at work and Gujarati or Punjabi at home. Insurance is the conversation a family has after somebody in it gets a bill, and they have it in the language they argue in.

Risk nobody has felt yet

"If something happens to you" is the weakest opening in this vertical. On our own account, home insurance reels averaged 3,569 views while car insurance reels averaged 51,946. A newcomer drives long before they own, so the fear is already on the road.

car insurance beats home insurance on the same account

Median reel 10,721 views. Likes and comments 20,484. The topic split is below, and it is the most useful thing on this page.

Which insurance topics actually get watched?

Every reel on the account, grouped by what it was about and ranked by average views. Same agent, same face, same eleven months, so the only thing changing between rows is the subject.

Average Instagram views by insurance topic on Neil Thakkar's account, September 2025 to August 2026
TopicReelsTotal viewsAverage
Working as a broker 4 515,497 128,874
Car insurance 33 1,714,227 51,946
Visitor and Super Visa cover 10 351,091 35,109
Life and mortgage protection 7 135,020 19,288
Investing and retirement 5 49,312 9,862
General insurance advice 6 43,978 7,329
Home insurance 6 21,414 3,569

The winners describe something that already happened to somebody, with the dollar amount attached: an $80,000 hospital bill after an accident, a premium that jumped after a friend's address went on a policy, a father whose cover lapsed a week before he was admitted. The losers describe a risk the viewer has not felt yet. Investing and retirement content sits near the bottom, which is worth knowing before you put a wealth series on an insurance account.

Views checked on 17 August 2026 against a full scrape of the account. Working as a broker is licensing and recruitment content, aimed at people who want to sell insurance rather than buy it, so it is listed separately and should not be read as client demand.

Insurance agents and brokers we work with

Two accounts, both live, both public. This is a newer vertical for us than real estate or mortgages, and we would rather list two profiles you can open than a wall of logos.

Puneet Jain's profile is age-restricted on Instagram, which means his posts cannot be read from outside the app, so none of his numbers appear anywhere on this page. Neil Thakkar's account carries every figure above.

Insurance is one of eight verticals we produce for. The same team also runs our realtors, mortgage agents, law firms, restaurants, car dealerships, car detailers and AI companies. Each page carries its own numbers and its own regulator.

What we do for insurance agents

What a personal branding agency for insurance agents actually does

Most agencies hand you a content calendar and wish you luck. We research who buys from you, write the scripts around your personality, direct the shoot, build the creative, publish it, and turn the engagement into organic inquiries. One 90 minute ideation call, two shoot days of two hours each, and a monthly performance review is all we need from you.

  1. Audience research and content ideation for insurance agents

We map who actually buys from you before a word gets written: which community sends your referrals, which language they think in, and whether your book is auto, home, life insurance, visitor and Super Visa cover, or commercial. A family that argues about money in Gujarati wants the explanation in Gujarati. Then a recorded 60 to 90 minute ideation call on Google Meet turns your own claims files and client stories into the month's scripts, which is where the specifics come from: the real bill, the real denial, the real amount somebody tried to save.

  2. Insurance reel scripts in your client's language

Every reel is written in Hinglish, Punjabi, Gujarati or English, built around what your clients are already asking: why their premium jumped at renewal, what happens to a claim when the address on the policy is not where the car sleeps, whether a parent on a Super Visa is actually covered, what term life costs at 30 versus 45, and which coverage the cheap online quote quietly left out.

  3. Video shoot direction for insurance agents

Two shoot days cover a month of content. Two hours each, four hours a month in total. We tell you where to stand, what to wear and how to deliver the first line. Most agents freeze the second a camera turns on, so the direction matters more than the equipment.

  4. Reel editing built for watch time

Captions, pacing, hook framing and sound design tuned for how people actually watch Reels: muted, one-handed, half asleep at midnight. Burned-in subtitles carry more weight in Hinglish than in English, because most people read the line before they hear it. A dollar figure on screen has to be readable in the second it appears, and in this vertical the dollar figure is the whole reel. Read our breakdown of the editing mistakes that lose a viewer early.

  5. Turning Instagram views into insurance leads

Every reel ends in a single keyword CTA. Someone comments the keyword, an automated DM goes out in seconds, and the conversation lands in a CRM with the lead tagged by source. Timing matters more here than almost anywhere else, because insurance questions arrive at the worst possible moment: a renewal notice at 11pm, a parent's flight booked for next month, a friend's claim just denied.

  6. Meta and Google ads for insurance agents

    Optional

Growth stays organic. For agents who also want paid lead flow we plan and run Meta lead campaigns and Google ads, and we run SEO on Uplift AI, our AI SEO partner. Ad creative gets built the way we build a viral reel: scripted, shot and edited to be watched. The full method is written out on our Meta lead ads page, and it applies to a quote funnel with the offer swapped.

Where we work

Insurance marketing by city and region

What a client is scared of is not the same in Brampton as it is in London, because the premium is not the same and neither is the reason it went up. Our insurance clients are in Ontario, close enough to shoot at the studio in Mississauga. Insurance licensing is provincial, so the compliance details change the moment you cross a border.

Greater Toronto Area

Toronto, Mississauga, Brampton, Markham, Vaughan, Milton, Oakville, Caledon

Where most of our own roster works, and the most expensive part of Ontario to insure a car, which is why premium content outperforms everything else here. It is also the market where the address-on-the-policy shortcut is most common, and where getting caught at it costs the most.

Neil Thakkar, insurance broker in Greater Toronto Area
Neil Thakkar

Ontario beyond the GTA

Kitchener, Waterloo, Cambridge, Hamilton, London, Ottawa, Windsor

Premiums here run well below Toronto, and that gap is itself the content. Two of the biggest reels on our insurance roster are about which Ontario cities are cheapest and what happens when somebody borrows one of those postcodes without moving there.

The rest of Canada, run remotely

British Columbia, Alberta, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Nova Scotia, Quebec

Our insurance roster is Ontario today, and everything except the shoot is already remote in our other verticals. Licensing is provincial and so are the advertising rules, so an account in Surrey is scripted to the Insurance Council of British Columbia and one in Calgary to the Alberta Insurance Council.

Questions insurance agents ask

Insurance content marketing questions, answered

The questions that come up on almost every first call, answered the way we answer them on the call: shoot days, RIBO and FSRA compliance, languages, which topics actually work, and how long leads really take.

Yes, for the content that works best. Somebody is deciding whether to hand you their family's medical history and their household income, and that decision starts with seeing your face and hearing how you talk. You do not need to be polished. Most of our clients were uncomfortable on camera in month one and stopped noticing by month two. We direct every shoot, so you are never guessing what to say.

Yes, and we build for the rule rather than around it. Insurance licensing in Canada is provincial and it splits by line of business, so the rule that applies to you depends on both. A property and casualty broker in Ontario answers to RIBO, whose code requires advertising to carry the brokerage's registered name and to not mislead. A life and health agent in Ontario answers to FSRA and holds an LLQP licence. Outside Ontario it is the Insurance Council of British Columbia, the Alberta Insurance Council, the Insurance Council of Manitoba or the AMF in Quebec. Ontario also protects the titles Financial Advisor and Financial Planner under the Financial Professionals Title Protection Act, so an agent without an approved credential cannot use either word on a profile, and that is the mistake we correct most often. Send your brokerage's advertising policy over before the first shoot and we script to it.

Nothing changes except the room. You need a decent mic, which we will pick for you, and an iPhone or any good phone. Our team gets on a Google Meet, sets the space up with you at home or at your office, then stays on the call and directs you line by line through every script, exactly as we would in the studio. That is how we run accounts outside Ontario. Where a shoot needs more than a phone, we arrange a professional videographer in your city.

Hinglish, Punjabi, Gujarati and English. The language is chosen per client, not per company, and it follows where your referrals come from rather than where you live. Neil Thakkar's audience is Gujarati, and the reels that carried his account are the ones where a Gujarati family's mistake is described the way that family would describe it.

On Neil Thakkar's account, car insurance is 15 times bigger than home insurance. 33 car insurance reels averaged 51,946 views. 6 home insurance reels averaged 3,569. Same agent, same face, same months. The pattern underneath is that the winners describe something that already happened to somebody, with the dollar amount attached: an $80,000 hospital bill after an accident, a premium that jumped after a friend's address was used on a policy, a father whose cover lapsed a week before he was admitted. The reels that lost describe a risk the viewer has not felt yet. Most of a newcomer audience drives before it owns, so the road is where the fear already is.

That is where this account started. Neil Thakkar had posted five times in three years before we took over, and did 2.8 million views from 71 reels in the eleven months that followed. A small account is not the problem. Posting a quote graphic once a fortnight is the problem. The first 90 days are about volume and consistency.

36 videos, because we produce 12 a month. Views move first, usually inside the first 30 to 60 days. Across this account the median reel did 10,721 views and the best did 436,432, so the average is carried by a handful of reels and the early ones sit well below it while the account finds its audience. Inbound messages follow in month two or three, once your profile has enough content that a stranger can tell what you actually place. Anyone promising you written policies in week one is selling you something else.

Both, and the same team makes both. Every follower, view and comment we report is organic, with zero ad spend behind it. Separately, for agents who want paid lead flow, we run Meta lead campaigns and Google ads, and we build that ad creative the way we build a viral reel: scripted and edited to be watched rather than skipped. That is why our ad creative tends to pull cheaper leads than a quote form with a phone number on it.

Yes. Our insurance roster is currently Ontario, and we run accounts remotely across Canada in our other verticals. The shoot is the only part that is not remote. Insurance licensing is provincial, so the advertising rules change with the province and we script to whichever council or regulator applies to you.

Ask us before you sign. We keep deliberate distance between clients chasing the same client in the same pocket of the same city, and we will tell you honestly on the call whether your area is already taken.

What does social media marketing for insurance agents actually get you?

Social media marketing for insurance agents works when the content puts a real number on a mistake somebody already made. That is what 71 reels and 2.8 million views on one Ontario broker's account come down to: scripts in the language spoken at home, a face the client recognises before the first call, and a CRM that catches the DM the moment it arrives. Organic reach carries most of it, and Meta and Google campaigns run alongside for the agents who want paid volume as well. The first three months are slow. Month four is usually where it starts compounding. The Tarang Patel case study breaks a comparable account down month by month, and the same method built our mortgage roster and our realtor roster.
